Bonlife 90 is an online insurance quoting and purchasing platform operated by Bonlife Assurance Namibia (Pty) Ltd ("Bonlife", "we", "us", or "our"), a long-term insurance company registered in the Republic of Namibia (Registration No. 00/LT/09) and licensed by the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) under the Financial Institutions and Markets Act 2 of 2021 (FIMA).

2. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information collected through the Bonlife 90 platform, accessible at insure.bonlifenam.com, including our AI assistant (Bonnie), our quote and purchase flows, and any related communications.

By using Bonlife 90, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.

3. Information We Collect

We collect personal information in the following categories:

3.1 Identity and Contact Information

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Namibian identity number or passport number
  • Gender
  • Email address
  • Mobile phone number
  • Physical and/or postal address

3.2 Beneficiary and Dependent Information

Where you add beneficiaries or dependants to a plan, we collect equivalent identity and contact information for those individuals.

3.3 Financial and Payment Information

We collect information necessary to process your premium payments. Card and banking details are processed directly by our third-party payment processor, PayGate, and are not stored on Bonlife 90's servers. We retain records of transaction amounts, dates, and references.

3.4 Insurance and Underwriting Information

  • Cover amounts and plan selections
  • Declarations relating to health, lifestyle, or financial position where required by specific plan types
  • Quote history and purchase history

3.5 AI Conversation Data

When you interact with Bonnie, our AI assistant, the content of your conversation is processed to generate your quote. Conversation data may be retained for service improvement, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance purposes.

3.6 Technical and Usage Data

  • IP address and device information
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Pages visited, clicks, and time spent on the platform
  • Session identifiers and cookies (see Section 9)

4. How We Collect Your Information

We collect information:

  • Directly from you when you enter information during the quote or purchase process, or when you contact us.
  • Automatically through cookies, analytics tools, and server logs when you use the platform.
  • From third parties where permitted by law, including identity verification services or your employer if you are covered through a group scheme.

6.1 Service Providers

We engage trusted service providers who process data on our behalf, including payment processors and technology infrastructure providers. All service providers are contractually bound to process your data only for the purposes we specify and to maintain appropriate security standards.

6.2 Regulators and Law Enforcement

We disclose personal information to NAMFISA, the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC), law enforcement agencies, or courts where required by law or where we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bonlife, our customers, or the public.

6.3 Business Transfers

If Bonlife is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

6.4 With Your Consent

We may share your information in other circumstances with your explicit consent.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including:

  • Active policyholders: for the duration of your policy plus a minimum of 5 years after termination, in accordance with our regulatory obligations under FIMA and anti-money-laundering legislation.
  • Quote-only users (no policy purchased): for up to 24 months.
  • Closed claims: for a minimum of 5 years after settlement.
  • Accounting and transaction records: for a minimum of 5 years as required by law.

When retention periods expire, we securely delete or anonymise your data.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable Namibian law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete personal information.
  • Request deletion of your personal information where we have no lawful basis to retain it.
  • Object to the processing of your personal information for marketing purposes.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on your consent, without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
  • Lodge a complaint with NAMFISA or a relevant supervisory authority.

Bonlife 90 uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform, remember your session, and analyse usage patterns.

10. Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These include encrypted data transmission (TLS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

11. Children's Privacy

Bonlife 90 is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided information through our platform without parental consent, please contact us and we will delete it.

Where a policy covers minor dependants (for example, under a Family or Funeral plan), the information is provided and controlled by the adult policyholder.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a prominent notice on the platform before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Bonlife 90 after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
